The brief of the design project is to create a special needs care home. The brief is Care Homes for Younger Adults which will house six young adults in the small town of Saltaire. The building will focus on the six residents however the focus on the staff will be a high factor as this is also a place of work and a good workplace will help the quality given to the young adults. The building will aim to motivate, give confidence and help the adults self-esteem by careful design considerations that help each one to feel at home while receiving a high standard of care. Also special interests and sometimes high levels of ability in music, mathematics, technology or music is a key part of these young people life and the building will play around these aspects by giving areas of play within their own comfort or with others. The building will aim to fit within the surrounding context as will the aim of the residents aim to fit right within the community of Saltaire. The site is perfect for achieving this, close to the town centre but yet comfortably isolated and not far from main facilities.
