The museum is located in Santiago de Compostela, capital city of the Spanish region of Galicia. The city has been important for christianity since the grave of St. James was found at the site over a thousand years ago. Since then, many pilgrins visit the town every year from all around the world. For that reason it plays a very important role in the history of Galicia and it's the ideal place to place the museum. The site is located in the old part of the town and not far from the cathedral, which can be seen from the building.
The visitors will be led into the building by its white color, which will be characteristic, and by the continuity of the pavement, which will be the same outside as in the ground floor. Inside there will be a big menhir considered the big attraction. It can be seen once the visitors are in the entrance hall, and then, thanks to the visual connection that there is between the different exhibition rooms, it can be seen from anywhere in the public zone, including the library. The entrance hall also devides the museum in the two main parts. The public, of which we have already talked about, and the private, where the administraition of the museum is located. There is also a conference room, which is on the ground floor and it's preceded by a wide space where people can wait until they enter it.
