The boundary between Hong
Kong and Shenzhen has a mysterious metaphoric quality which involves many
various interesting aspects. Hong Kong – Shenzhen were born as
hilly-topographical green landscape with its cultivated location in
comfort-zone climate. Its mysterious landscape and ecology has an intersective
mutuality between nature and artifice as symbol of harmony and dynamism of
living system. The hybridization of landscape nature and artifice replicate the
essence of ‘Living Together’ through its elegance and aesthetic organisation of
how nature and artifice mutates each other.
The pedestrian bridge is a
dialogue between Hong Kong and Shenzhen; as a seed of a living organism. The
intersection of the sourceful Shenzhen river and the pedestrian bridge has
become the climax point which spreads its racines to create spaces and
architecture. The tectonic of the roof reflects the picture of Hong
Kong-Shenzhen landscape: natural and dynamic. The roof gives interaction
through the patios which grow into the spaces throughout all the levels
introducing natural light and air ventilation. The departure and arrival
program layout has been organised flawlessly dynamic with officess at the side,
seperated with series of corridor as porosity to the space in between. The
patios are important factor in giving administration offices on 2nd, 3rd and
4th level a quality of working environment. The office zone has a fully
interaction with natural surrounding view.
The design reflects both urban development as one of the most
powerful and important cities to look at. Germino-Morphic (Hong Kong – Shenzhen
BCP) is a symbol of ‘Living Together’ as one important entity in the culture,
economy, politic, etc. Being a boundary crossing facility and an icon of two
cities, the facility is a prominent landmark that ensures an enjoyable journey
with minimal impact to nature.
