The client required custom built ins in existing openings that would hide their television and related equipment when not in use and would also incorporate bookshelves. They were also looking for a design that would convey a sense of "lightness." The design emerged from a desire to break away from the rigid orthogonal grid that was prevalent from the windows surrounding the space, to bring a new geometry into the space. It also acts as a focal point from the main entrance while retaining sensitivity to the furniture and architecture.
