Casa Yoli was created by KINEKI in collaboration with Cabin México, a company dedicated to the manufacture of mobile homes. The result is a 52 m2 tiny house or hotel room, which can be installed in 90 days anywhere in the Mexican Republic. Its costs are below a hotel key, which makes it a perfect model for a weekend house or to start a hotel model. The houses adapt to any climate and can be completely off the grid.
The house is installed with a stilt-type foundation, which are considered the oldest ecological houses in America. For its construction, reinforced concrete cubes are used in each of its structural axes, which receive a light metal structure, forming a frame that is protected with primer and anticorrosive paints, in addition to a concentrated product, created to protect, suppress and prevent fires. The KINEKI structure of columns and girders is placed on this frame.
KINEKI is currently the only solid wood construction system in the country, which has a patent and forestry certifications from the FSC, an entity that confirms that the wood from the forest is being managed with the utmost care, so that biological diversity is preserved and it benefits the lives of local populations and workers, while ensuring that it sustains its economic viability.
The structure of Casa Yoli is built with pine wood, to which a CCA (Chromated Copper Arsenate) preservative treatment is applied. It is a water-soluble preservation system, developed to protect long-term wood exposed in outdoor structures, or that is in contact with soil, fungi and pests, as well as seawater and is applied to wood in vacuum pressure treatments. Fire retardants are also used, forming a protective barrier around the wood fibers, preventing flammability and combustion speed. In addition to having electrical systems such as smoke detectors.
The walls and slabs are built with SiPanel, which is the only company in Mexico that manufactures sustainable dry panels. The panels are made up of a high-density injected polyurethane core between two fiber cement plates.
The KINEKI system operates with energy savings of up to 60% in homes, reducing construction time, processes and costs associated with it, such as: water, freight and dump trucks, among others, minimizing the environmental impact.
3 models of Casa Yoli were developed.
