He is a US Citizen and has an Indian-American family cultural and ethnic background. His family immigrated to the United States in 1989 and is established in New Jersey. Merudh graduated in 2010 from Rutgers University - School of Engineering with honors. He was an integral part of growing the social and service fraternity Delta Sigma Iota during his time at Rutgers, which was founded on the principles of service, unity and education.
