Text description provided by the architects.

The New Leme Gallery was built in 2011 two blocks away from the original one. It is a reconstruction of the first building designed by Paulo Mendes da Rocha and Metro architects, demolished by the end of 2011. Beyond the reproduction of the original project, was incorporated a new building, a cube of 9×9 meters wide, connected to the main building by a footbridge on the upper floor.

This new set of buildings is a result of the negotiation of the owner of the gallery with a big construction company who bought the whole block in which the old gallery was located to construct a commercial building. This is a part of the process of fast urban transformation, typical of the city of Sao Paulo.Architectural design: Paulo Medes da Rocha, Martin Corullon e Gustavo Cedroni [autores] Alfonso Simelio, Bruno Jin Young Kim, Ricardo Canton, Filipe dos Santos Barrocas, Antonia Peña, Pedro Mesquita, Isadora Marchi, Marina Ioshii, Luis Tavares [colaboradores]Site area: 592 m²Construction area: 554,47m²Construction: sm3Lighting design: Ricardo HederStructure: Cia.
