This amazing wooden house was erected for a 3-member family in the Ljubljana suburbia. The original plan was slightly modified to meet with the residents needs and to fully adapt to the plot. As the house was set in a hillside neighborhood, which is densely populated with family houses, this design seemed perfect for privacy issues. The bigger and smaller (cubes) volumes of this house are connected with a dining-room area, which is glazed from the top and both - the entrance side and the garden side of the house. The glazed slate which offers a peek over the dining room into the garden on the others side and the front door, are the only openings on the entrance facade, which provides its residents with a perfect sense of privacy.
A smaller cube holds the living area as well as the open plan kitchen and the dining area which connects both of the cubes. The big cube consists of two floors, first one holding the entrance and storage/relaxing (sauna, gym) area, while the upper floor holds two large bedrooms (with bathrooms and a closet room) overlooking the green roof of the smaller cube.
The cubes face each other with a set of panoramic windows which open to a wooden terrace connecting the house from the outside. The terrace then continues into the garden with a swimming pool.
This wooden fortress provides amazing space solutions, unexpected views and exiting details and it leaves no one unresponsive.
