Design Brief:
Tabriz Medical Building competition was held in Dec. 2014 by MEMAR EVI organization where participants tried to find best solution for an existing clinical building façade, this competition was limited to exterior skin and interior changes were not permitted. Considering municipality regulations and urban criterias, besides innovations and ideas were an important issue for jury committee decision.
Facade design philosophy:
Using portable flowerboxes in the building facade both inside and outside of treatment clinics improve sense of freshness and livingness. Due to energy serving and environmental comfort approach, sun shades were also taken part in façade sketching which preserve users from annoying lights and can be controlled by mechanical rotors. Using green spaces in second skin integrated with parametric pipe-shaped structure, balance the incoming light and retrieve lack of green spaces in the surrounding. Discussing building’s context, due to recent constructions, many precious garden have been vanished and sense of existential nature has become lessen. In this situation, healing natural habitat or providing other alternatives and greenery as an important and vital health element, indexed in this.
