The 145,000 SF addition effectively doubles the size of the existing facility while preserving the prominence of the adjacent McNamara Alumni center and Scholars Walk. The building maintains continuity with the larger campus through an exterior palette of brick, glass and limestone. A portion of the building “floats” above a prominent public plaza where critical campus pedestrian paths converge. The building’s public entrance features a café and student lounge and faces the plaza and Scholars Walk. Drawing in the sun’s light and warmth, the expressive, open, south façade provides a welcoming beacon to engage passerby.
