The wind museum is going to be constructed in the heart of the desert of Iran, Tabas, where there is a significant culture of wind architecture. To represent the wind a curved wall was designed in front of the project to remind the trace of the wind on sands. Because the museum is located in a desert with a hard climatic situation the design principle was to develop the main space beneath the ground level.
In the region, the cities Masina and Nashtifan are unique parts that Iranians used to make a kind of windmill called Asbad to convert energy. The design team was inspired by this concept and tried to interpret it in new architectural forms. To represent the Asbad a curved wall was designed in front of the project. Each Asbad is connected to a generator to provide electricity and it will be a new sustainable vision. The cylinders shaped the walls and the arcs as the main form.
