The plot is located on a major axis of Plessis-Trevise in an immediate suburban changing fabric urban context Our project is the fruit of the conciliation between the urban context, the program, and our architectural intention to give the building the best integration into its urban environment. The building’s implantation along the avenue Maurice Berteaux with a withdraw of 8m allows to establish an urban complex which has a direct dialogue with the neighborhood. Its dynamic profile contributes to the roofing architecture, a strong contextual identity at the neighborhood level. The slopes of the roofs have been studied carefully in order to offer a pleasant and aesthetic silhouette.A square volume south oriented is rotated in the heart of the plot, completingthe dialogue with the pavilion fabric context.
The project presents a compact and rational organization of housing units, led by a reflection on the themes of privet live, sharing, and flexibility. It aims a space appropriation by the inhabitants. The rationalization of the ducts allows the vertical connection of different apartments typologies. The design of the façade proposes a calm and timeless writing to accentuate the domestic aspect of the building through its large windows. The sober design of details contributes to simplify the construction. Although the presence of wood reinforces the domestic expression of the building, its noble materiality highlights the architectural perception of this social housing. From the pedestrian point of view, openings and their wooden framing create a thickness in the facades and dialogue harmoniously with the neighborhood’sroofing tiles by its warm appearance.
