We imagine the existing building enwrapped in a dark semitranlucent glass structure.
Five corian titan coloured elements dissect the whole architecture, unvealing a theatrical scenario perceptible from different points of view : it’s possible to enjoy it while standing on the building’s foyer/terrace facing west, as well as walking towards it from the square.
Smooth curves lightly caress the sharp and austere formal impact of the vertical shapes, in a straightly marking way.
These corian blades put a strong accent onto the theatre main entrance stairway, hiding in the meantime technical services, such as runaway stairs, lifts and the ticket office.
The newly conceived italian white carrara marble terrace and stairway, sliding out of the original building axes, allow the regular traffic flow, while hiding it from the front perspectival sight.
The text - Pushkin’s poem “I loved You” - outcarved on the corian wall on the right side beneath the entrance stairway, represents an homage to the russian poet’s work.
