The architect,Maxim Gusev, is telling about the
"Room bar" of the "Slaviansky-Plaza" business center in Perm city. "We
undertook this project from a purely sporting interest. The customer
asked us to built in a stylish bar for 40 people with a long bar-stand
and a spacey DJ-stand in 50 sq m. In order to fulfil this request we
had to extract everything we could out of the existing space. The DJ
was sent to the glass shelf, fixed directly above the bar. With the
ceiling height of 4 m, in order to offer maximum height above the
shelf, we had to create an irregular, complex ceiling, and to hide the
venting, acoustic and electronic equipment above the hall of the bar.
The prevailing interior colours are the tones of black and graphite
(chrome, black leather, zebrano-wood). The contrast with the main
tones is created by means of a clashing dynamically-twisted ribbon of
white corian, cascading from the bar-stand to the DJ-stand, and flying
away to the infinity of the red glass wall."
