Baskervill developed a master plan for the track's ultimate build-out to 150,000 seats.
Working with Richmond International Raceway and its parent company, International Speedway Corporation, this project lays the groundwork to turn RIR into a state-of-the-art racing facility with a renewed emphasis on fan and driver amenities.
Baskervill's work included four separate seating expansions, the design of modern hospitality and press suites, an infield care center, and the renovation of a historic structure into a hospitality facility. The infield care center includes multiple treatment beds, trauma treatment areas, showers, a private waiting area for family members and a screened ambulance entrance.
Also at the track is the TORQUE Club, which serves as an exclusive members-only club for fans looking to catch the race in style. Besides offering an air-conditioned 16,000-square-foot club with two full-service bars, multiple buffet stations, private restrooms and more than 60 flat-screen televisions. The section also includes 700 covered outdoor seats so ticket holders can get the best of both worlds on race day.
