CHANGING THE FACE CINEMA PUSHKINSKY - Ideological
Background
Because of its scale, rank, place and context with its surroundings meet
the functional requirements for a given topic pushed us to start looking for
inspiration for new expressive forms for over fifty years of the building
facade Pushkinsky Cinemas. Brake the previous thinking, because it's time for a
change. The more the better. Striving for the right solution has become an
architectural chelange for us, an illusion, interweaving of colors, textures,
materials sensation, creating sculptures in the geometry of space . By
modifying the building are trying to revitalize and change the dynamics of
space, which is embedded and to create a place specific to the heart of Moscow
- the city symbol. Complementary to the requirements of the competition we have
used certain products, including DuPont's innovative solutions in the
historical area of the city. Neutral, toned, gray Corian is used to cover
the side elevations of the ribbon fasade. Color affects us from the
representative of the stairs leading to the square of Pushkin
and poured into the interior through the floor, columns, walls to ceiling and
pouring on the external LED projection screens, towering above the dome. The
main observations were inspired by travel, nature, buildings, people, small and
big things useful and everything that surrounds us every day. Getting to the
final form gave rise to many sorts of associations, ranging from rock massifs,
hewn timber or a basket braided line. The project idea developed these
associations through an modyfication in the form of the building. Raising it by
a sloping attic (in lightweight steel construction) have caused a significant
increase in the dynamics of the front fasade of cinema and its form. Finally we
managed to get the organic forms which give an characteristic expression of the
shape and intense color. . Complementing the background of the forms and
colors are glass and steel elements. Building is spectacular at night, we use
of various light sources to make this expression. Starting with LED screens
suspended in the attic, "laser light" cut edges on the side facade, and
contemporary, irregular forms of the lighthouse. To illuminate the interior of
the building we used crystal chandeliers, highlighting the remarkable form of
the building.
Our design proposals are connecting the functionality with avangarde of
colour and form.
