Competition 2015
transformation of a dominican monastery from late baroque, situated in the city center of cheb, into a childrens' music school. the architectural concept gives more permeability to this naturally hermetic building type, and creates links to the surrounding public space. the same strategy is being applied on the inside, by opening the central courtyard and restoring the cloister. one of the few new elements is a suspended roof between two buildings that creates a new entrance situation for the representation spaces. in terms of preservation aspects, the goal is to make the different historic layers of construction visible.
