At the heart of Platres, nestled among pine trees and the stone textures of the mountain landscape, the new exhibition space proposes a quiet yet substantial architectural intervention. The intention was clear from the outset: to create a space that does not impose itself upon the environment but rather emerges from it. Through the use of natural materials such as local stone and exposed concrete, the building integrates organically with its setting, drawing from the earth its tones, textures, and material presence. The composition is defined by clear lines and horizontal concrete slabs that shift in height and projection, producing a subtle interplay of light and shadow. These variations lend the structure a sense of rhythm and movement, as if it follows the natural geometry of the terrain. The architectural form conveys balance and stillness, while at the same time evoking a contemplative dialogue between the heavy and the light, the natural and the man-made.The relationship between interior and exterior is treated with complete fluidity. Floor-to-ceiling aluminium glazing dissolves visual boundaries, allowing nature to flow seamlessly into the interior. Light, air, and the sounds of the forest shape a constantly changing experience for the visitor.More than a building, the exhibition space in Platres represents an architectural experience of inhabiting nature — a poetic reflection that listens to its surroundings and reinterprets them through light, materiality, and time.
