Customer's Request:I'd like a winning idea in order to use the whole open space environment in the best way.The room should harmonically match the two distinct parts together, the different functions don't have to look too separate but they have to form a whole unit.In the kitchen environment I'd like to have a table and a counter with stools. In the living room environment I'd like to have a bookcase and a home office corner where I'll give private lessons.I'd rather avoid the white colour, while I like the idea of a red and grey solution. The Interior Designer's Comments:Considering the height of a part of the open space and the disposition of the plants on the wall in front of the French window, we went for a linear solution, where all main kitchen elements find place. According to the customer's preferences we placed a built in oven on a column and we opt for a built in refrigerator, keeping the linearity of the whole composition. We chose wall units with a 92 cm height, in this way the whole room will look well proportionate, offering at the same time a good storage capacity. The glossy lacquer finish, in two colours, gives brightness and liven up the environment thanks to the red colour. We wanted to give additional value to the vertical layout, for this reason we designed a plasterboard structure with spotlights, to light the whole environment. Moreover, in the internal part of the structure, it's possible to insert the steam duct for the hood obtaining a better aesthetic solution. The kitchen counter-top is in light oak, as the extending table, matching well with the other two wood already present in the room. The chosen chairs are well coordinated with all the kitchen metal elements and they result discreet yet elegant. On the same wall of the entrance door we placed a bookcase, with finishes matching the kitchen ones; it's composed by open compartments and storage units with door, ideal to store objects and display books at the same time. The whole kitchen environment is delimited by a double-sided sideboard that can be used both as a storage unit and as a TV stand. The choice of the sideboard allows who is seated on the sofa to have an excellent view of the TV screen without hiding the kitchen. We decided not to place the counter with stools because the barrier between the two environments would close the space up too much, moreover there wasn't enough space for the TV.The sofa, with back composed by a lacquered panel and an armrest with bookcase, is an ideal solution for the middle of the room and guarantees an optimal perspective view, also for the people who enter the room from the balcony. To make the best use of the open space lower part we put two bookcases matching the one in the kitchen. On the wall opposite to the entrance one, there's a desk; thanks to its characteristic design it perfectly integrates with all the other finishes and materials and take advantage of the entire space we have at our disposal. In the inferior part, it's also possible to place an additional chest of drawers or an ottoman. The ottoman can represent the ideal solution when an additional seat is needed, both near the home office and near the sofa.
