This old house was completed in 1984. At that time, the demand for housing exploded because of rapid growth and urbanization. Many houses and apartments were being built everywhere in the city, rapidly. This was one of them.
This house had a masonry structure; it looks good compared to the year. It would have been a gable roof with the addition of metal panels from some time, originally a flat roof. It may have been due to insulation and leakage. It was not bright inside, because surrounding buildings in the south are high over 3 stories. Well, we focused on how the light brings into the inside.
We pondered 2 alternatives whether to make a skylight on the slab or make a skylight with some spaces. The former has an advantage of the construction cost, but the latter has many good points except it. Skylight with spaces makes people being brighter and happy.
