The No. 7 Line subway extension from Times Square towards the Jacob Javits Center is an integral part of the New York City Department of City Planning’s redevelopment plan for the Far West Side of Manhattan. This major infrastructure upgrade will spur the development of new commercial and residential construction in a currently under-developed neighborhood. The project includes the design of a new subway terminal station at Eleventh Avenue/34th Street, involving new station entrances, several above-grade systems facilities buildings, extensive coordination with the City’s urban design master plan and integration with proposed private development. Dattner Architects is on PB Americas team. The station, two entrances, and four ventilation shaft buildings are under construction.
