Low energy consumption and minimal cost of maintenance were equally high priorities in designing this highly efficient & environmentally sustainable infill project.
The building aesthetic needed to be sympathetic to the rich mining and railway history of the town with an interior bathed in natural light to showcase the owners collection of mid-century modern furniture.
The design was directed by the following principals:
- Simplicity and flexibility in form and function.
- The creating of an open, free-flowing floor plan to maximize livable area.
- A commitment to high quality detailing, materials, & craftsmanship.
-The use of prefabricated elements wherever possible.
- Integration of green design, materials, & technologies.
