Two-Generation Residence in Central Tokyo
Rising four stories above ground with a basement level and a rooftop terrace, this residence was designed to accommodate two generations while maintaining a sense of unity and privacy.
The basement level houses a private gym exclusively for the parents, accessible through an independent entrance to ensure comfort and autonomy.
The exterior combines board-formed concrete with teak lattice railings and red cedar soffits, expressing both strength and warmth. An external insulation system enhances energy efficiency while preserving architectural refinement.
From the rooftop terrace, residents enjoy panoramic views of Roppongi Hills — an ideal setting for outdoor dining and gatherings.
Inside, the design prioritizes comfort and performance, featuring zoned air-conditioning, a whole-house humidified ventilation system, and argon-filled Low-E double glazing. Together, these systems provide a stable indoor climate throughout the seasons, creating a refined and tranquil living environment.
