Tapada do Gramacho is a restored Portuguese farm on 7 hectares of land bordering the river Arade near the historical town of Silves, also close to the villages of Lagoa and Estômbar. It is beautifully situated in a nature and bird watching area. Tapada do Gramacho offers the atmosphere of the old world with modern comfort and luxury. A peaceful place for rest, space, nature, and the sounds of birds, crickets and the wind blowing in the reeds. Due to the special location of this project, we adopted ecological solutions such as using water from an underground stream and maintaining existing Roman mini-aqueducts, recycled wood for doors, natural ventilation for cooling and heating in the rooms and a self-sustaining eco-garden that requires low maintenance. The complete construction process broke a record by Portuguese standards as it took only three months to build.
