“MARÍA, MOTHER OF LIGHT”
Located in the vast Pampas plain of Argentina,
this small place of reflection rises as a space
to encounter Mother Mary, who shelters us
and brings us peace.
Between the countryside and the city,
where the grid becomes infinite,
there is a point where everything
begins and ends.
The existing vegetation is essential,
serving as a natural setting that
brings serenity to the place.
The proposed materials relate
to the earth and to light.
Natural light and brick,
treated with humility and intention,
seek to merge in a poetic interplay
filled with meaning.
Given the site’s orientation,
it offers great potential to work
with light and shadow.
Being a small corner lot,
it serves as a focal point marking
a north–south axis,
with a floor that acts as an atrium
and two walls where the image
of the Virgin will stand.
