The Culture is a symbol of identity of the people and a nation, preserve and transmit it is essential to continue walking in a diverse world where identity is vital to understand who we are, and where we go. Therefore, the Chapultepec Cultural Centre in form and function as architectural work has been designed to become an iconic landmark for the city of Guadalajara, with the clear intention of exalting the CULTURE-wide expression of the word, cultural diversity icon and make a symbol of unity for Guadalajara.
Inspired by the beautiful costumes of Mexican folklore, particularly the Jalisco´s folklore, symbol of national identity, the architectural work is inspired by the different textures and colors of woven fabrics that form a complete union of edge-to-edge of each costume. Thus, the new work, integrates several parts according to the program that each contains: textures, shapes and colors, creating in the end a single work, a single symbol, joined together, prepared to share every visitor the most beautiful thing a man has built in the time: CULTURE.
The new Chapultepec Cultural Centre has been carefully traced to represent national cultural wealth, so will fully welcome all forms of artistic expression. Each space has been created to provide the best conditions to the learning of new knowledge to enrich society of Guadalajara, as well as all national and international visitors who come in contact with the Cultural Centre. From end to end and from corner to corner, it has been designed with the objective that the user will be fully linked to cultural knowledge.
