Empils' corporate culture and activities are based on ESG principles - environmentally friendly and socially responsible sustainable development. We used these principles as the basis for the functional and aesthetic part of the project.
We needed to create a workspace where the strength of the company, its vision, experience, the importance of quality and employee satisfaction could be felt.
Creating a working environment for employees where they can work efficiently and feel a sense of ownership is a primary goal of the concept.
Based on data from manager and employee surveys, we designed the work environment in accordance with the company's organisational structure and core work processes, taking into account the technological and regulatory requirements for production spaces.
The peculiarity that had to be taken into account when working on the visual part of the Empils project was the specialisation of the company - production of decorative paints and zinc oxide. It was important to emphasise the direction of the activity in a very correct and practical way. Therefore, in accordance with the tectonics of the architecture of the industrial building, we made the general space of the interior background and monochrome, using paint, wood, metal, grey cast flooring and warm colours.
The accent in this project was the paint, a product manufactured by the factory. Minimalist and restrained shapes, large proportions allowed the interior to be "clean", industrial. However, thanks to such non-standard design solutions as a poured floor in a complex terracotta colour, a light perforated grid of the modular ceiling, orange seams for grey tiles, equipment in a rich mustard colour, we managed to express the uniqueness of the company in the design of the industrial interior.
The layouts of more than 5,000 square metres of space were designed with the mass production nature of the company in mind. It was necessary to take into account the needs of the main groups of workers and administrative staff, as well as the interactions between the groups and the logistics of the work process within the company.
For the navigation and landscaping projects, we studied the group dynamics and needs of the workforce.
We based our interior layouts, finishes and furnishings on the principle of responsible consumption and the social dynamics of the company.
