Casa BSO consists of a single volumen facing the most favorable orientation. This is a construction that doesnt disguise its presence on the terrain but because of its expresive, dinamic and changing appearence it developes a relationship of certain serenity with the site and its surrounding vegetation.
Located at Los Molinos, Cordoba, Argentina, the house is sorrounded by a group of trees, acacias at the east and chañares at the west, receiving proyected shadows of branches and leaves across its facade during the day.
This house presents a strong duality. At its passive state it represents a self-closed iconic object posing on the landscape and at its active state it becomes an open and permeable pavillion strongly attached to the outside.
This is a refuge in nature, a flexible container offering different possibilities of use and ways of occupation. Opened to the north orientation with big windows that reinforce a dialogue with the narural landscape, favouring the interior-exterior relationship.
The possibility of controlled air movement, graduated amount of sunshine and favorable thermical performance provided by its walls and wooden roof makes of this small house a construction very aware of its relationship with climate and enviroment.
