Kara Boyd and Krista Petkovsek founded Nushu, LLC in 2014, and work on small to medium sized commercial and residential projects. Nushu completed an expansion of the NRDC Midwest Office (with SGA), residential projects in Illinois and Wisconsin, and are currently working on the renovation of the headquarters for Young Chicago Authors. Nushu advocates for the re-use of existing buildings wherever possible, and Nushu’s NRDC office expansion was the first project to receive the Living Building Challenge Petal Certification under LBC 3.0.
