We believe considered architectural design raises standards of living and should be accessible for everyone, this is why we founded Native Narrative in the beginning of 2017, mainly of out of the frustrations we experienced designing and delivering projects in the commercial London design industry. We were inspired to build more impactful buildings. For us this meant relocating to the Philippines, and focusing our efforts in serving people first.
We pushed the boundaries of what we previously knew about the roles of architects and project managers. During our first two years in practice we operated on a non-profit basis and slept on the floor in the office of our Filipino NGO collaborator. We lobbied with local government, sourced funds, coordinated with local contractors and carpenters and completed 4 learning center projects which affected local policy for children. Several other projects are in the making.
We are now operating out of Copenhagen, Denmark, simultaneously focussing on the commercial industry and non-profit projects. Common for all our projects is the aim to strengthen local communities by delivering considered and affordable architectural design.
We enjoy learning from our collaboration partners and supporting other architects who strive to realise likeminded projects.
