Lapo Ruffi (Florence, 1971). He graduated in 1998 from Florence Architecture Faculty (Museum of Contemporary Arts in Florence). He has worked in architectural design with works of varying nature and scale: from urban projects to single-family houses, from interior design to furnishings, participating in national and international competitions. In 2002, he opened his own office, Lapo Ruffi Architetto - LRA, deciding to concentrate on research projects and on architectural experimentation. Among his recent awarded projects are: the international competitions Europan 9 in Pistoia (Italy, 2007, 1° prize) and Europan 10 in Montreux (Switzerland, 2009, 1° prize). Among his main realised works: S House (2001-03) and D House (2003-05) in Pistoia, K Office in Montecatini Terme (2004-07), I Space in Pistoia (2007-09) and TCR Building in Serravalle Pistoiese (2007-09). His works have been published in numerous magazines and on national and international websites. In 2007, his work was included in the book 1000xEuropean Architecture, Verlagshaus Braun, Berlin and shown in the exposition FlorenceEXIT_Signals and ferments coming from a new architects' rising generationand at the Festival of Creativity in Florence. In 2008, he was invited to exhibit at RIZOMA_Biennale of young italian architects and was included in the anthology Young Blood 2007_The Annual of Italian talents prized in the world.
