de Hoog & Kierulf architects is a full service architectural firm. Peter de Hoog MAIBC and Charles Kierulf MAIBC have worked together since 1992 at the start of the Selkirk Waterfront Comprehensive Redevelopment. They formed their partnership in 2001 and opened offices at Mattick’s Market in Cordova Bay. In 2008, the partners moved to their current downtown Victoria location at 977 Fort Street.
The design approach at de Hoog & Kierulf architects is collaborative, flexible, and innovative with fine attention to detail from initial concept development to successful project completion. Projects have ranged from adaptive re-use of historic buildings and thoughtfully detailed modernist residences to large scale contemporary residential, commercial, and institutional site planning and building design.
The partners at de Hoog & Kierulf architects are assisted by a support team of architects, intern architects, technologists, and the office manager. A relaxed leadership style and efficient project management ensures a rewarding and enjoyable office culture based on trust and mutual respect. This also applies to our productive working relationships with consultants, builders, authorities and especially our clients.
de Hoog & Kierulf architects are committed to the principles of sustainable development and are certified building code professionals, LEED certified, and a member of the Canadian Green Building Council.
