The indoor spaces open onto \u201ccascading hydroponic balconies, \u201d where food such as carrots, tomatoes, spinach and saffron are grown, meeting most of the residents\u2019 food needs. Additional food is produced either in large greenhouses located on the top of the towers or in nearby agroforestry fields. Due to the placement of green footbridges, walking from tower to tower is easy, and the structures are designed to promote a sense of community among the residents. It accomplishes this feat by making sure the air comes in contact with the stable temperature of the Earth. \u201cOur village basically imitates the climate control of a termite mound,\u201d Amlankusum explains.
