The house takes advantage of north\/south views while being built to withstand floods and hurricanes. The building promotes caregiver collaboration and patient community building. Taking advantage of an open, sloping site, the facility is located along the southern edge of the property overlooking a reconstructed pond. Created around the idea for a \u201cnew way of working,\u201d the design challenges the typical notion of the open office. The main design inspiration was the site, with redwood trees, a steep incline, and views of Mount Tamalpais.
