Project Status: Concept<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

 <\/p>\n

Gods and Dreams Resort <\/strong>\u2013 The project was conceived as an extension of the site. The resort in its gesture aims to a continuity with the landscape inspired by the topography. It extends, follows it and grows from it. The resort enhances and maximizes the landscape and its views, through reflections, big openings and direct access points to the landscape. The slender organic strips of the form allow the resort to perch on the terrain. The plantation extends over and all around the resort allowing the strips and the skin that they formulate, to shift in different hues and density. The rooms and living areas are shifted backwards and forwards to ensure private, enclosed spaces and open views of the scenery.<\/p>\n

Architizer: What inspired the initial concept for your design?<\/strong><\/p>\n

314 Architecture Studio: Our concept design was navigated by two main parameters: the topography, that in its raw form denied any introversion and requested a sensitive handling to its complexity and multiple focus points. The second parameter was the theoretical weight and historic complexity of the site. The ancient theater of Epidaurus is used to this day attracting thousands of visitors every summer, but most importantly is a place whose form and properties have a correlation in everyone\u2019s memory. Just like the theater, the team envisioned a skin that performs in the landscape as a mechanism that disappears and mutates allowing the visitors to view the multiple scenes of the landscape.<\/p>\n

What do you believe is the most unique or ‘standout’ component of the project?<\/strong><\/p>\n

We believe that the skin morphology is the most prominent of the projects characteristics.<\/p>\n

What was the greatest design challenge you faced during the project, and how did you navigate it?<\/strong><\/p>\n

The challenges we faced were more technical in nature. The entire terrain had not been accessed before so we extensively scanned the site in collaboration with engineers and specialists. Then we researched though multiple sections, simulations and designs our options on construction trying to find the least invasive approach trying to respect the landscape and leave as minimum of a footprint as possible.<\/p>\n
