RIBA Regional Award Winning Building, 2015http://www.jdarchitects.co.uk/news.phpJDA worked with the client to find a suitable property for a theatre and cinema. The Lion Street site gained planning and listed building consent to part demolish buildings and to convert others into cinemas and performance centers. The site and buildings are at the center of the historic town of Rye.

A state-of-the-art cinema with private screening room and box office with associated bar and café spaces is now complete. The main auditorium seats over 100 and is a newly built piece of modern architecture that nestles amongst its historic surroundings. The project was inspired by John Fletcher, playwright and colleague of William Shakespeare, who himself was born in the historic town of Rye.
