“Speak 3D” is the slogan of Kubity, a handy smart viewer that allows users to share SketchUp and Revit models on any device via the web, desktop app or mobile app. This catchphrase reflects Kubity’s aim for 3D models to be viewed as a ubiquitous medium of communication in the same manner as instant messaging, video calling or good, old-fashioned conversation. The app facilitates architectural storytelling via immersive 3D visualization.

The most recent iteration of Kubity — Kubity PRO — allows users to instantly explore any model that has been shared with them on their cell phone. Once inside the model, you can pan, zoom and spin around the 3D structure on iPhone, iPad or any Android device, allowing easy access to review designs on the go. Once a model has been downloaded, it can also be viewed offline, so it is possible to check out your team’s models without using up valuable data.

You can export your SketchUp model to your cell phone in seconds using Kubity’s in-built QR code.

The app also makes it possible to view models within your real-world environment via augmented reality — available with a simple swipe across your touchscreen. With the addition of Google Cardboard, models can also be viewed at a 1:1 scale in a virtual reality environment. Kubity is currently allowing beta testing of its next feature, VRSkope, which extends VR functionality to allow models to be viewed using headsets such as the Oculus Go or HTC Vive.

Models can be shared across web, desktop and mobile apps.

Kubity currently supports SKP (SketchUp) files up to 1 GB in size, while Revit models can be converted for viewing purposes using the free rvt2skp plug-in. Kubity offers online access for free for a trial period of 14 days.
