Bigger and Better Than Ever: ICFF to Showcase the Best of Global Design in NYC from May 16–19!

Architizer Editors

As the anchor event of NYCxDesign and North America’s largest showcase of global design, ICFF is just a week and a half away. Now in its 27th year, the show promises to be bigger and better than ever, a design destination for not only New York-based architects and designers but exhibitors and attendees from the world over to discover the latest and greatest furniture, lighting, textiles, materials, and more.

From May 16–19, the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center will host over 700 exhibitors, not only on the first floor, but on the second floor, as well, bringing the total size of the show to 247,000 square feet. The increase in floorspace sees the introduction of two new special features at ICFF: the “HO.MI. New York” pavilion and the “luxe. interiors + design” event. The former is a partnership with the biannual exhibition of the same name, which is expanding beyond its home in Milan by bringing 120 top Italian designers and brands to the heart of Manhattan; the latter is an exhibition dedicated to high-end contemporary and classic interior design.

In addition to these exciting new partnerships, this year’s show marks the 10th year of the ICFF Studio program, a juried selection of young and emerging designers from around the globe. This remarkably successful partnership with Bernhardt Design saw a record number of entrants this time around, and once again, each of the winning designers — 11 in all — will present a single work in a gallery setting.

Meanwhile, ICFF will continue its tradition of hosting a full schedule of programming on site with a series of talks addressing topics from materials to connectivity as well as the latest developments in designing for residential, hospitality, contract, and luxury retail environments. Similarly, the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) returns with a robust educational program on topics such as color, materials, and trends, as well as productivity and best practices.
