Bathe in Glory: Hansgrohe+Axor’s Das Design Competition Is Open for Entries!

Calling all American architects and interior designers! Hansgrohe+Axor have begun their nationwide search for the second annual Das Design competition. Whether it’s a five-star luxury suite in NYC or a midcentury renovation in California, the Black Forest-based company is searching for recent projects that have incorporated Hansgrohe and Axor products in a novel way.

As the story goes, many bathroom fixtures that are commonplace today (such as the hand shower) were innovations conceived by Hansgrohe+Axor founder, Hans Grohe. Up until the mid-20th century, it was a luxury for much of the population to have their own bathroom. In a time where bathrooms in private houses were just becoming fashionable, Hansgrohe specialized in tin showers as an affordable alternative to baths, forging the successful future path of the firm. In spirit of the founder, Hansgrohe+Axor are looking to celebrate projects that highlight the innovative legacy of the company.

For each category — Residential, Commercial, and Hospitality — Hansgrohe+Axor will award one Winner Prize and three Honorable Mentions. The first place winner for each category will be awarded $2,000 for Hansgrohe+Axor products and a round-trip journey to NYC to attend an awards ceremony and VIP event with Head of Axor, Philippe Grohe, and designer Antonio Citterio, in October. All winners will be announced in the awards ceremony and featured in an online competition gallery and in Hansgrohe USA’s social media channels.

We think you have a shot. Enter by August 14th and check out the Das Design Competition page to learn more.
