We’re heading to the Beach! Architizer is thrilled to be participating in Design Miami, one of the year’s most hotly anticipated events showcasing design innovation and celebrating the creators of tomorrow. The show starts on December 3rd, with tickets available here.

Now in its 14th year, the design fair attracts designers from a wide range of disciplines, many of whom are pioneering solutions to the most pressing issues facing our changing world. This spirit of creativity makes Design Miami the perfect place for Architizer to get pumped for the 8th Annual A+Awards and celebrate the past, present and future of architectural innovation.

We kick things off on Thursday, December 5th, teaming up with architect and curator Terence Riley for a tour of Miami’s famous Design District. Riley is a founding partner of New York and Miami-based Keenen/Riley (K/R), a knowledge and creativity-based practice with a focus on architecture and design. One of the highlights of the tour will be the A+Award-winning Museum Garage, the design of which was led by Riley in collaboration with five different firms, each bringing their own unique style to its façade.

Later that evening, the festivities ramp up with an exclusive cocktail reception hosted by Suntory. The progressive House of Suntory ‘Tiny House’ is a transportable and elegant Japanese bar that is currently traveling to various locations around the U.S., where guests both inside and outside the structure are treated to the highest form of omotenashi, or Japanese hospitality. Architizer and Suntory will party with select winners of the 2019 A+Awards and other VIP attendees to kick off Design Miami in style.

Finally, on Sunday December 8th at 4pm, Architizer’s Content Director Paul Keskeys will host a discussion in the Design Forum entitled “Rising Tide: Interdisciplinary Approaches to Coastal Resilience”. Presented by the University of Miami Laboratory for Integrative Knowledge (U-Link) and the School of Architecture, projects discussed will present cutting-edge solutions for shifting the paradigm in coastal communities, including the restoration of green infrastructure and the next generation of coastal design.

We’re excited to be a part of one of the world’s most forward-thinking design events — and contribute a little inspiration of our own! If you’re interested in joining Architizer in our exclusive programming at the fair, please email kelly@architizer.com for event details. Space is limited and RSVPs will be accepted on a first come, first served basis, so get your enquiries in quick!
