Last night, HBO debuted its other series about the daily lives of young people living in a big city. No, not Girls. Looking follows the lives of three gay men in San Francisco. Set to the backdrop of the Bay Area's progressive culture and booming tech industry, Looking presents a contemporary vision of the city that highlights its changing urban landscape.
Indeed, Looking's unrivaled scenery has put us in a California state of mind, inspiring us to take a look at some of the new residential projects around the city. Unsurprisingly, many new homes in San Francisco address issues of providing adequate living space in a highly dense urban environment. That means multi-storied, slender homes and condos that make use of extensive glazing to provide a sense of openness and connection to the city. Here, we present the best of San Francisco's hip urban abodes.
And if you're an architect or designer working in the Bay Area, join in—there are only four days remaining to enter the 2014 A+ Awards!
