A+Product Awards 2024: Winners Revealed!

This year’s winning products, materials, lighting and furniture form a vibrant showcase of design innovation.

Architizer is proud to unveil the winners of the 2024 A+Product Awards! This renowned industry program spotlights the pinnacle of design innovation across the building product spectrum, featuring categories from lighting and furniture to building components and sustainability-focused materials. This year’s A+Product Awards attracted entries from hundreds of the world’s foremost brands, showcasing an array of products that set new benchmarks for aesthetics, performance and impact.

After a meticulous judging process carried out by an esteemed panel of over 200 architects, designers, and thought leaders, as well as a global public vote, the top honors have been secured by an impressive lineup of industry innovators. While every winner impressed the jurors through their functional and aesthetic qualities, many also gained plaudits for their sustainable credentials, echoing the industry’s shift towards more ecologically responsible design practices.

A Commitment to Sustainability

This season’s competition highlighted a significant trend towards sustainability, with many entries incorporating green practices and materials to reduce environmental footprints. “This year, we’ve observed a profound commitment to sustainability that goes beyond mere compliance,” said Paul Keskeys, Editor in Chief of Architizer. “Our winners have set a formidable precedent, proving that good design and environmental stewardship can go hand-in-hand. We hope that highlighting the pioneering work of these brands, and thrusting them into the A+Product Awards spotlight, helps to raise the bar for the entire industry.”

Products that demonstrated innovative use of recycled materials and energy-efficient designs were among the frontrunners, reflecting a broader industry movement towards building a more sustainable future.

Jurors Impressed by “Exploration of Excellence”

This year’s expert jurors, hailing from many of the world’s best architecture and design studios, were highly impressed by the overall quality showcased in this season’s A+Product Awards program. Francine Houben, Creative Director and Founding Partner of Dutch architecture firm Mecanoo, was among those to gain both inspiration and insight the judging experience. “Participating in the A+Product Awards jury was an inspiring exploration of innovation and excellence in design, enriching our built environment,” remarked Houben.

Similarly, Gary Li, Principal at Kostow Greenwood Architects, highlighted the forward-looking nature of many entries: “The submissions showcased the technological advances within various industries and sectors – from the integration of multifunctional fixtures, accessories, products to the ability to meet many technical / sustainable goals with new materials. We’ve utilized many of these brands in our work but its good to see the innovation within these new products, which will only benefit the industry as a whole.”

Meanwhile, Benjamin Saxe, Founder and Executive Director of award-winning Costa Rican firm Studio Saxe, emphasized the value of designs grounded in natural materials forms: “Amidst the technological and avant-garde, products grounded in organic materiality stood out … These pieces not only exemplify practical utility but also embody a return to the elemental, where the tactile and the aesthetic converge in harmony.”

Inaugural A+Products List to Feature the Best Brands of 2024

Every winner from this year’s A+Product Awards will be featured in the inaugural A+Products List, set to be published in the next month. This definitive compilation will highlight the year’s most innovative brands, each of which has contributed significantly to the advancement of the AEC industry. The A+Products List will include testimonials from top designers and stunning imagery from select A+Product Awards winners, forming an essential resource for architects and designers around the globe.

Additionally, each winner receives the iconic A+Product Awards trophy and certificate, designed in collaboration with Society Awards, designer of the world’s top awards trophies including the Emmy Awards, the MTV Awards and the Golden Globes! These trophies, custom engraved with the winning brand’s name, product and category, are more than just awards — they are symbols of industry-verified excellence, ideal for display at industry trade shows and in product showrooms.
