Mies van der Rohe’s Birthday GIVEAWAY: The Modern Architecture Game

Kelly Chan Kelly Chan

In celebration of Mies van der Rohe’s birthday today, we will be giving away two copies of NEXT Architects‘ much lusted-after Modern Architecture Game! Yes, you can be the proud owner of what is possibly the most niche board game on the planet. Answer trivia questions about CIAM, test your knowledge of crotchety Koolhaas catch phrases, and make all your normal friends think you’re speaking in tongues (“Bauhaus! Blob! Structuralism!”) while skipping around as  3D-printed game pieces modeled after building such as the CCTV Tower and London’s Gherkin. Don’t forget to wear Le Corbusier’s infamous round spectacles, which are tinted in red lest you confuse them with the pair you already own!

These may be the only copies currently available outside of the Netherlands (you can order them here, but NEXT Architects won’t ship them in the mail). So for your chance to win, send us the correct answer to this question, fresh from the deck of trivia cards: Which words did Morris Lapidus use to satirize the motto of Mies’ ‘Less is more’? E-mail the answer to editorial@architizer.com with the subject line: Modern Architecture Game, and we will choose two winners at random from the correct entries. Good luck!
