If you are a fan of architecture, digital design, typography, and GIFs — the undisputed darlings of online artistry — then you are in for a real treat.
Creative firm Deepblue Networks recently collaborated with illustrator Florian Schommer on a marketing campaign for their website, transforming their logo into gigantic letter-shaped buildings — crisp axons worthy of, say, Chris Ware — inhabited by the company’s employees getting up to all kinds of merry mischief.
Each letter corresponds to a department within the company, including art direction, copywriting, interaction design, and motion graphics. The clean-cut aesthetic belies the level of detail: a perceptive eye should be able to pick out a rooftop bat signal, a talented juggler, a boxing match with an alien, a daredevil skateboarder, and a fearless free climber.
Meanwhile, the firm’s website is supremely simple, allowing the GIFs to take center stage alongside a light-hearted description of each department’s creative superpowers within the company. These animations must sit along side Federico Babina’s viral sensation ‘Archibet City’ as exemplars of architectural typography, displayed against solid colored backgrounds in all their axonometric awesomeness.
