Lr. Design

Popular Vote Winner, 2026 A+Product Awards, Decorative & Free Standing Lighting

Lr.Design was founded by two architects in 2024, dedicated to merging 3D printing with everyday aesthetics. They design for technology—exploring the boundaries of additive manufacturing while transforming them into new aesthetic languages through design. As virtual technologies rise in prominence, they reflect on how to make tangible design and fabrication as accessible as the virtual.

The Hejduk Lamp draws on architect John Hejduk’s exploration of duality in Wall House II — separation and passage, isolation and connection — pairing classical columnar textures with parametric, organic curves. That duality carries into its making: a flowing, non-planar 3D-printed shade meets a structurally precise FDM-printed base, with interlocking modular parts that let users repair, reconfigure, or recolor the lamp over time.

Nakamoto Forestry

Jury Vote Winner, 2026 A+Product Awards, Building Envelopes, Cladding, & Roofing

The Nakamoto Zourin group is Japan’s largest siding mill and the world’s largest manufacturer of yakisugi (shou sugi ban), with over a century of forestry experience in Hiroshima and four mills across Hiroshima and Tokushima prefectures. PEFC-certified for sustainable forestry, the company mills up to 810,000 square feet of yakisugi monthly and distributes jobsite-direct in North America and Europe from stocking warehouses in Portland, Oregon and Düsseldorf, Germany.

Nakamoto Forestry’s new Weathering Stain Silver is a manufacturer-applied finish that evokes naturally aged wood while eliminating maintenance, transitioning from bright pigmented silver to a soft, sun-bleached gray in a living expression of wabi-sabi. A two-part formulation — a silver pigment that washes away within the first year and a reactive ferrous sulfate component — lets the surface mature organically with no recoating, available for sustainably harvested unburned sugi and Gendai yakisugi.

The Splash Lab

Jury Vote Winner, 2026 A+Product Awards, Fixtures & Fittings – Kitchen and Bath
Popular Vote Winner, 2026 A+Product Awards, Innovation

The Splash Lab has taken a future-oriented, hands-on approach to product development since 2014, when Foster + Partners engaged the studio to create custom washroom fixtures for the genre-defining Apple Park in Cupertino. More than a decade and thousands of projects later, its product line continues to grow around a shared vision of design that is at once deeply ambitious and functionally diligent.

Lumashelf is a bold evolution of the handwashing station — a single horizontal plane that appears to float from the wall, with water, soap, and hand dryer built directly into its monolithic silhouette to eliminate countertop clutter. Delivered fully pre-assembled and pre-plumbed in durable, low-VOC Corian® with integrated LED lighting and ADA-compliant design, it invites architects to reconsider the sink not as a collection of fixtures but as a complete, resolved architectural system.
