The submissions for Architizer’s inaugural One Rendering Challenge were nothing short of spectacular. Hundreds of incredible architectural visualizations were submitted from around the globe, all attempting to address the competition’s simple brief: Create a single rendering that tells a compelling story about architecture and its inhabitants.
It’s now time to celebrate the best of those renderings: We’re thrilled to introduce the One Rendering Challenge eBook, a free-to-download publication featuring all 100 finalists. Explore every visualization by these talented students and non-students alike (go full screen for the best experience!):

The finalists’ renderings expressed both technical prowess and creativity. Some projects were conceptual and otherworldly and some were beautiful recreations of iconic structures. They featured locations from across the world and took every shape, size and scale. Though diverse in their presentation, each featured visualization told intriguing stories and constructed worlds around the architecture they showcased.
The opening pages include exclusive interviews with our two Top Winners: Carlotta Cominetti, Tamás Fischer and Camelia Ezzaouini of visualization studio Virginlemon and Brandon Bergem, a 2019 MArch graduate at the University of Toronto. The 10 Commended Entries are featured next, followed by 88 more stellar submissions, accompanied by the story behind each project.
In addition to featuring first in this publication, our two Top Winners each received:
- $2,500 prize money
- Annual Pro subscription to Substance, Adobe’s 3D Texturing Software
- 1 annual license for V-Ray or Corona Renderer, users’ choice
- 200 Chaos Cloud credits by Chaos Group
- 5 3D model collections by Evermotion
- 6-month subscription to Quixel 8K resolution Megascans
- Access to Quixel Bridge and Quixel Mixer
- Featured entry in the inaugural “One Rendering” eBook
The first “One Rendering” eBook will be distributed to thousands of architecture firms via Architizer’s newsletter and social media channels. Thank you to all participants for their hard work in creating these amazing visualizations and telling fascinating stories about architecture!
