This is a weekend house whichs is located in Takeo, Saga pref., Japan.
The house is floating by 1.4 meters from the ground.
that is fixed by the 29 columns which have diameter of 76.3 millimeters each.The family who was the client had already owned a house which was characterized by wooden wall.The site was surrounded by trees and tall buildings. Therefore they could not get any views, and could not protect their privacy. The family drew a new life images quite different from the quality of life that was obtainable there, and wanted a new weekend house.They bought a small hill with a fine view over the city and the mountain. They wanted a openness to the view.On the other hand ,” We don’t need any openings on the north wall which is facing to the road and buildings. ” as they said, they also wanted to protect there privacy from any eyes.There is no openings which can see through the inside of this house, and there is also no entrance which we can see from the road. We have to walk around the outside for entering this weekend house.The house is floating by 1.4 meters from the ground. And that is fixed by the 29 columns which have diameter of 76.3 millimeters each.there is no uses sandwiched in between the house and the ground. Our eyes and wind can go through this void.By meaning of this design, we hoped that the reconciliation of the house and the landscape was found.
