Hornberger + Worstell has designed the new University Student Union at California State University San Marcos. Serving as the gateway building for the northern entrance of campus, the University Student Union includes 89,000 square feet of student life spaces that supports the campus as it grows.
Some of the Union’s features include a central “Living Room” for the entire campus with connections to student lounges, study spaces, retail, a café, and exhibit areas. A dining court offering a variety of indoor and outdoor seating options serves up to 650 students with a wide range of cuisines, three meals a day. A conference facility gathered around a 9,000 square foot flexible, multi-purpose ballroom supports the Union’s large-scale events. The project was completed in Spring 2014.
