Situated in the northeast quadrant of the SSU campus, this facility occupies nearly 50 acres adjacent to Copeland Creek. The GreenMusicCenter includes two primary performance venues: a 1,400-seat concert hall and a 300-seat recital hall. The facility will be home to performances by the Santa Rosa Symphony and host performances by the San Francisco Symphony, the Bach Choir, and SSU?s varied musical programs.
Enjoyment of concert hall events will extend to an outdoor viewing lawn that offers patrons a relaxed gathering environment. The festival lawn is contained by a rolling landscape that provides a rural backdrop to the facility and helps to create a protected acoustical environment.
Quadriga was prime consultant for site design and engineering of the Music Center Phase I improvements, completed in 2002. Phase I improvements included development of the parking facility for the future Center. The large parking area was broken up into four smaller parking pods, incorporating storm water detention ponds, vegetated swales, and additional wetland features, visually uniting the area with the adjacent riparian zone of Copeland Creek. This design not only serves to detain storm water, it also provides a pleasing entry experience for the pedestrian traversing through it from the parking area to the music venue and the campus.
