Shoreditch House located on the upper floors of the Biscuit Building, a early 20th Century warehouse on Ebor Street.
The design comprised of an additional floor creating a roof top bar restaurant which is covered by a retractable glazed roof. The adjacent raised deck with a series of secret gardens arranged around a a stainless steel swimming pool with panoramic views over the City. The completed development comprises of various restaurant and bar spaces, a gym, spa, meeting and function rooms, a large library for members to work from in the day that becomes a lounge by evening, with a small boutique hotel whose guests also use the club’s facilities. Together they present some interesting design challenges and technical solutions, creating an environment for all day use, a place comfortable for both work and socialising.
Gebler Tooth have been the Company Architects for Soho House for a long time - the collaborative relationship starting with the Electric House in 2002 and Nick Jones and Kirsty Young’s House in Holland Park. More recently GTA have been the architects for other Soho House clubs and projects around the world, including Chiswick House, Cecconi’s and Soho House in Los Angeles, Soho Bed and Brasserie in Dean Street, and were involved in the design of Soho House Chicago and Berlin.
